Operations Director

We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Director to play a key role in managing the operational activities of our non-profit organization Health & Help.

Health & Help is an international charity organization. The mission of Health & Help is to assist people in places where it is difficult or impossible to access basic medical care. We do this through the effort and resources put forth by volunteers and donors. We improve by helping others. Over the last seven years we have built two charity clinics in Central America (Guatemala and Nicaragua) and run them solely on a volunteer basis. We host international volunteer programs for doctors, nurses, medical students and other volunteers of non-medical profile.
The candidate will be responsible for effectively managing operational activities, HR processes, as well as overseeing document management, data storage, and security, and ensuring the smooth operations of charitable clinics. Additionally, they will be responsible for communicating with project directors in countries where the clinics are located.

Main responsibilities:

• Organizing the operational activities of the organization and making operational decisions on day-to-day matters.
• Monitoring HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining employee motivation (until the HR director is hired).
• Ensuring efficient document management, data storage, and security compliance.
• Ensuring the smooth operation of the organization.
• Developing and implementing processes and policies aimed at optimizing work and increasing organizational efficiency.
• Coordinating work with external partners and contractors on operational matters.

Requirements:

• Experience in operational management, preferably in the non-profit sector.
• Understanding of HR processes, including recruitment, training, and employee motivation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for making operational decisions.
• High organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills including conflict resolution, virtual teams management, ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
• Knowledge of legislation and standards regarding data storage and information security.
• Languages: written and spoken proficiency in English, Spanish is a plus.
