Non-medical Volunteer

We are looking for passionate and motivated individuals from all backgrounds to support our mission of bringing quality care to underserved communities.
Whether helping with logistics, education, community outreach, administration, or daily clinic operations, your work will have a direct impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute your skills, gain experience in a global nonprofit setting, and be part of a team dedicated to making healthcare accessible for those who need it most.

Country: Guatemala , Nicaragua
Program duration: Minimum 1 week commitment
Participation fee / volunteer fee: $150 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a regular work schedule Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with a lunch break). Please be available for occasional evening or weekend shifts during urgent situations or special events.
  • Support daily non-medical tasks, supply trips, inventory, and maintenance, contributing where your strengths shine.
  • Assist with organizing clinic paperwork and records, ensuring all essential patient data is accurately collected, stored, and easily accessible for effective reporting.
  • Help organize community events outside the clinic, such as home visits, medical days (jornadas), health education, and more.
  • Help keep shared spaces clean and join in daily chores like cooking and shopping as part of the team.
  • Follow all project rules and guidelines to ensure a safe, respectful, and well-organized environment.

Skills & Requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Knowledge of either English or Spanish (at least B1 level) is required, and knowledge of the other language is highly recommended. (We offer Spanish tutoring beforehand!).
  • Ability to drive a manual (stick-shift) car is a plus.
  • Be prepared to live and work in a remote rural setting, with limited internet access, away from large cities, and alongside a diverse international team.
  • A willingness to support the project through fundraising is appreciated.
  • Commitment to upholding the mission and core values of Health & Help is essential.
